形態特徵

• Deciduous erect shrubs with branchlets spreading; new branches and buds silvery-scaled.
• Leaves chartaceous, obovate, 2.2–5.5 cm long, 1–1.6 cm wide, acute to obtuse at the apex, acute at the base, the lateral veins 5–8 pairs; petioles 0.3-0.5 cm long.
• Flowers silvery-white, 1–3 in a fascicle at the axillary of leaves on both long and short branches; perianth-tube 5–7 mm long, the lobes 4, triangularly ovate, 2.8–3 mm long; stamens 4, the anthers elliptic, 1.8–2.0 mm long, the filaments about 0.7 mm long; style 6–7 mm long, stellate-haired, the stigma about 2.2 mm long.
• Fruit subglobose, 0.8-0.9 cm long, red; seed about 0.7 cm long.

分布

• 台灣 : In the thickets of the central and northern paarts of this island at the elevation from 1900 to 3000 meters.
• 世界 : In Italy, West Asia, India, Mainland Chinaa, Nepal, Indochina, Korea to Japan.

TAICHUNG: Shiyuan, Lu 24010. NANTOU: Kuankao to Yushan, Lu 24008; Chuifeng, Hayata s. n. (Type of E. convexolepidota Hayata). HUALIEN: Kuanyuan Lu s. n. ILANN: Lotung, Hibino & Ko s. n. (Type of E. obovata Li).
